Wands
Six of Wands
Wands · 6
A rider on a white horse moves through a small crowd, laurel on the head and another wreath lifted on a staff. The onlookers carry staves of their own. The horse is walking, not rearing over anyone, and the victory is public without being a trampling.

Upright, or the open face
Six of Wands is recognition that matches something you actually did. Let it land in your body for longer than a flinch. You can be proud without turning pride into a moat, and you can name the people who carried staves beside you. Visibility is a kind of nourishment, especially if you were taught to duck whenever a room looked your way; wear the wreath for the afternoon; then get off the horse and help stack the chairs.
Reversed, or the pressured face
When recognition sours, the applause is delayed, stolen, or so needed that you chase it past your own taste. You may discount a real win because it did not look like a film, or perform victory while the work underneath is thin. Withheld credit and a hunger to be seen can occupy the same horse; neither means you should never be proud.
Questions
- What recognition is true, and can I stand inside it for a full minute?
- Who else held a staff, and have I said so where it counts?
- Am I chasing a wreath, or finishing a piece of work?
A grounded example
At a community arts night you are handed a small local prize you almost did not apply for, and your ears go hot in a way that feels like being caught. You say thank you into a microphone that squeaks, and you name the friend who lent the lights. You do not turn the paper certificate into proof that you are finally a legitimate human. At home it goes on a shelf where it can be a fact.
