Ace of Wands

Wands · ace

A hand emerges from a small cloud and grips a wooden staff that is already putting out leaves. In the distance a castle stands over a river valley, and bright droplets fall around the wand as if the air had caught fire in a polite way. No person has taken the staff yet; the offer is the whole scene.

Upright, or the open face

The Ace of Wands is a live spark: a project, a desire, a daring mood that arrives before the plan does. The urge is legitimate data, not a distraction you must earn the right to feel. Take one concrete step while the heat is honest, and do not wait for an inner committee to decide whether you are the kind of person who starts things; beginning is a craft. Feed it once before you judge it.

Reversed, or the pressured face

Turned over, the spark fizzles into delays, or it burns so hot you scorch the notebook and call the ash passion. You may announce a beginning you will not feed next week, or feel nothing when you expected a blaze and decide that means you are finished; a stalled match is not a dead future. It is a match that still needs a surface.

Questions

  • What wants to start in a form my hands can touch this week?
  • Whose permission am I waiting for that is not actually on offer?
  • What would I do if the spark were enough and the brand deal never came?

A grounded example

You sign up for a beginner pottery wheel on a Wednesday impulse, then nearly cancel because you can already imagine the clay humiliating you; you go. You center one lump badly, laugh with the person at the next wheel, and watch your bowl slump into a geologic event. The wanting does not slump with it. You book the second class before the apron is in the hamper.
